12K carbon face

12K means twelve thousand carbon filaments in each woven bundle. The bigger bundles give a stiffer, more solid-feeling face than the 3K cloth used on entry-level frames.

Teardrop head

The widest part of the face sits between the middle and the tip. More reach and power than a round head, a bigger sweet spot than a diamond.

Soft EVA core

The softer EVA grade. It lets the ball leave the face with less effort and cushions an off-center hit instead of passing the shock to your arm.

Medium balance

Weight spread evenly between head and handle, so the racket neither drags on a fast volley nor feels empty on a smash.

Air Flow throat

An open, cross-braced throat with a cut-out on each side of the frame, to cut drag through the swing.

Details

The Amasport Tour is a teardrop with a 12K carbon face and a soft EVA core - the combination most players move to once a round racket starts to feel like it is holding them back.

The teardrop puts the widest part of the face between the middle and the tip, so you get more reach and more weight behind the smash than a round head, without shrinking the sweet spot to diamond size. The balance is medium, and the open, cross-braced throat - marked Air Flow on the frame - keeps the head moving quickly through the air. The soft core keeps it forgiving: the ball comes off easily and an off-center hit does not ring up your arm.

Amasport sells the Tour as an advanced frame. We would call it intermediate to advanced - the soft core rounds off some of the punch a hard hitter is after, which is exactly what makes it easy to play with.

Amasport does not publish a weight, a balance point in millimeters or frame dimensions for the Tour, and we will not guess them. If those numbers decide it for you, email us before you order.
